Biology 101

I have been taking a lot of pictures over Spring Break (that may or may not find their way to this blog!) and I became fascinated by the many eye colors represented in our little family! I doubt any one else will be as intrigued by this as I am...but if anyone out there enjoys reading old college textbooks as much as I do, you might enjoy! :)

Q: If subject A married subject B, what color eyes would their children have?

     A                           B

A: Your guess would be as good as mine! (The unruly eyebrows, however...)

It kinda makes you wonder what color of eyes #7 will have?! (That was a joke everyone! Don't get excited/horrified!)

P.S. The pictures above are in order of age...I was going to put up the picture below and make everyone guess, but when I tried it out on my kids they couldn't even guess their own (we aren't the brightest bunch around here!) Here are a few hints...Jason is the one with the big black eyebrows, and so far I'm the only one in the family wearing eye makeup (thank goodness!).

What a fascinating post, I love looking at large families and the eye color they produce. One of your parents must have blue otherwise you wouldn't have any kids with blue eyes.
I actually wanted to be a genetic statistician, how crazy is that! This stuff intrigues me to no end.

Hey Becka, I don't know if you'll see this, but to intrigue you further...BOTH of my parents have LIGHT eyes! My moms are blue with a little green and my dads are a very light green. I am the ONLY one with dark eyes. Everyone has very blue eyes except one sister with light green. A Biology teacher told me once that it must have been the milkman! :) I've decided that my eyes are actually just a funky green...the older I get, the greener they look, they were very dark when I was little!
Phew...after THAT novel, I sure hope you see this comment! (you might be the only other person in my life that finds this interesting!)
