Halloween 2011

Highlights/Lowlights of Halloween this year:

10. I only had 4 children dressing up this year. And they all agreed to non-hideous costumes.

9. Halloween fell on a teacher prep day this year--which meant NO school today--which meant the boys got to spend all morning cleaning!!

8. I told Ace and Joseph that if they didn't get their room clean (no small task, I assure you!), they would NOT be trick-or-treating this year. (For those of you who think this might have been an empty threat, you must not know how little I care about Halloween--I was actually hoping they would fail.)

7. Ace and Joseph cleaned their room!!! (Obviously, THEY knew I was serious!)

6. One reason I was hoping they would fail...I made a deal with a few friends of mine that we would all stay away from sugar for the rest of the YEAR! (I've only had 3 pieces of candy tonight. And by 3, I mean 12.)

5. I didn't take any kids around door-to-door this year. Jason took Sophie around, and the rest were with buddies. I have been answering the door (and blogging). This post is taking an unusually long time because the doorbell goes off every third word.

4. Grandma got Sophie the CUTEST costume EVER! (She's a Peacock--or a Feecock--or a Cheecock...she keeps changing the pronunciation.)

3. The weather was gorgeous!

2. I helped put on ZERO class parties this year---let me repeat that one...ZERO CLASS PARTIES!

1. Sophie totally got the concept of Halloween this year--from the costumes, to the candy, to the knocking on doors--and LOVED every minute of it...but her favorite part of all was that she got to wear lipstick and mascara! :)

And yes, I realize that most of these pictures are of the little princess. It wasn't ONLY that I was playing favorites, OR that she had the cutest costume...she was also the only one who would cooperate. (For the record--when the boys try to hold this against me later.)
