Halloween Top Ten List

Top nine reasons I hate (too strong?)--okay, don't totally love Halloween, and ONE reason I DO totally love it! You probably thought this was going to be a different kind of list! "So sorry". (said in a Canadian accent for my sisters)

10. 5 boys...500 pounds of sugar...enough said.

9. My absolute inability to stay away from the 500 pounds of sugar.

8. That 500 pounds of sugar?? It comes in wrappers. That my boys throw on the floor. Because they think it is a garbage can.

7. Jason has ALWAYS hated Halloween (it is a somewhat recent development for me), which means that I don't get much help with this holiday.

6. Pumpkin carving. Fun in theory...in actuality?? (Think about it! Miserable, right?)

5. Elementary School parties. For all you PTA moms out there--enough said! (I do need to give a shout-out to my Halloween Hating Hubby however--I think he feels bad that I have now turned against the holiday, so he agreed to be the "fourth mom" at Joey's party...Side note--I think he had fun! I'm secretly signing him up to be "Head Room Mom" next year!)

4. The decorations. I don't really need any FAKE cobwebs or spiders--I have enough trouble with the real stuff.

3. I always put off buying candy until about an hour before the "trick or treaters" arrive--which means that I'm the person stuck handing out Smarties.

2. THE COSTUMES! To most of you, this won't make any sense--costumes are supposed to be fun, right?! If you answered YES!--then you don't have five boys over the age of five. Who all want to be stupid, ugly (too strong again?)--okay, not-the-cutest things for Halloween. W

ho all want you to spend gobs of money on not-the-cutest costumes. Who all want you to drive them to the store over and over to LOOK for not-the-cutest costumes (after you told them that if they wanted new costumes, they would have to buy them themselves...and they called your bluff).

Finally, after all my ranting...the one and only reason to LOVE Halloween this year.

1. Baby girls are SO MUCH fun to dress up!

Update: After rereading this list, and actually having a good time last night (the weather was lovely)...I SORTA take back most of what I said. I'm going to fix my attitude before next year! (Unless it snows, then all bets are off!)

Me and Jeremy were just looking at these adorable pictures of Soph and Jeremy said "So what was Jake for Halloween?" I told him I didn't know because you only posted pictures of the baby!! It's come to that hasn't it? Having someone to dress up is somethin' isn't it!!
